About Us

Putnam Coastal Painting is a family-owned painting company founded by Meghan and Jordan Martinez in Kennebunk, Maine. Licensed, insured, PCA accredited, and serving York County homeowners with honesty and craft for over 10 years.

A Family-Owned Painting Company Built on Integrity

I started in 2014 painting oceanfront homes along the Maine coast. Nobody handed me a company. I just showed up, did the work, and kept my word. That was it.

What I noticed early on was that the homes I was being called to fix were not failing because of bad paint. They were failing because of bad prep, cheap products, and contractors who were already thinking about the next job before they finished yours. I watched homeowners get burned over and over by people who underbid to win the job and then disappeared when things got hard.

I decided I was not going to be that guy.

Every surface I touched, I prepped the right way. Every product I specified, I chose because it was right for that home, that climate, that exposure level. The price I quoted was the price I invoiced. When the job was done, I did not leave until the homeowner was satisfied. Not because someone was checking on me but because that is simply how I was raised to work.

Word got around. That is how this business grew.

"I truly love my work, and it shows in every project we undertake."

A few years in, Meghan came alongside me and built everything I was not able to build while I was on the ladder. She managed the schedules, handled customer communication, and developed cabinet refinishing as her own craft and specialty. She made sure every customer felt heard from the first phone call to the moment we walked out the door after the final walkthrough.

Between the two of us, we kept it honest. No subcontracting to crews we did not trust. No padding estimates. No cutting corners on the days nobody was watching. We built Putnam Coastal Painting the same way I painted that first oceanfront home one careful step at a time.

That has not changed. It will not change.

"My team and I stay at the forefront of new products, techniques, and materials in the industry. We are constantly in contact with others in the field sharing ideas and experiences. I truly love my work, and it shows in every project we undertake!"

Co Owner

Jordan Martinez

Cabinet Refinishing · Client Relations

Jordan leads every exterior project personally. Ten plus years on Maine’s coast taught him which products survive the salt air and which ones fail by year two. He’s the reason our exterior work lasts 8 to 12 years instead of the industry average 5.

If your home is within half a mile of the ocean, Jordan probably already knows the right primer, the right topcoat, and the right number of coats before he sets foot on the property.

Jordan's Standard

Festool dust-free sanding on every project. No exceptions. No shortcuts. Cleaner prep means longer-lasting paint.

Meghan Martinez

Cabinet Refinishing · Client Relations

Meghan is the reason every project runs smoothly. She specializes in cabinet refinishing — taking tired kitchens and bathrooms and making them look factory-new at a fraction of replacement cost. No demolition. No weeks without a kitchen.

She is also your point of contact from first call to final walkthrough. When you reach out, you talk to Meghan. When you have a question mid-project, you call Meghan. That continuity is deliberate.

Meghan's Specialty

Cabinet refinishing that looks indistinguishable from new — done in days, not weeks.

Our Team

THE PEOPLE BEHIND EVERY BRUSHSTROKE

When you hire us, you are not getting whoever is available that week. You are getting a crew I personally trained and personally trust on every job.

I handle every estimate myself. The person who walks your home is the same person responsible for the result. Meghan runs operations and leads every cabinet refinishing and bathroom vanity refinishing project personally. Our crew shows up on time, protects your home, and cleans up every evening before they leave.

We do not subcontract. The people who start your project finish it.

We are not building a painting business. We are building a reputation in a community we call home across Kennebunk, Portland, Wells, and every town in between.

Who owns Putnam Coastal Painting?

Putnam Coastal Painting is owned by Meghan and Jordan Martinez, a husband-and-wife team based in Kennebunk, Maine. Jordan leads field operations and has spent over 10 years restoring and painting homes across coastal Maine. Meghan specializes in cabinet and vanity refinishing and manages customer relations and project coordination.
Our primary address is 172 Kennebunk Rd, Kennebunk, Maine. We serve all of York County and southern Cumberland County, including Portland, South Portland, Biddeford, Saco, Scarborough, Falmouth, Kennebunkport, Wells, Old Orchard Beach, Sanford, and Cape Elizabeth.
We have been painting homes and commercial properties across York County for over 10 years. During that time we have built our business almost entirely on repeat customers and referrals from within the coastal Maine community.
Yes. We are fully licensed and insured in the state of Maine. We carry general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage on every project. We are also PCA (Painting Contractors of America) accredited. We provide a certificate of insurance before any work begins on your property.
PCA stands for Painting Contractors of America, the national professional association for painting contractors. PCA accreditation means we meet the professional, ethical, and quality standards set by the industry body. It is an independent verification that we operate to a higher standard than unaccredited contractors.
Both. We handle residential interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and decorative finishes for homeowners across York County. We also provide commercial painting for offices, retail spaces, multi-unit residential buildings, hospitality properties, and light industrial facilities.
Several things set us apart. We are family-owned and personally invested in every project. We use premium paint exclusively — Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Johnson Paint — never builder-grade products. We include furniture moving, floor protection, and end-of-day cleanup on every job at no extra charge. The price we quote is the price you pay. And every project ends with a final walkthrough where you sign off, not us.
Yes. Se habla español. We are able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients throughout the estimate, project planning, and execution process.
No. The crew that shows up on day one is the crew that finishes the job. We do not subcontract to unfamiliar crews. This is one of the reasons our quality and communication remain consistent across every project we complete.
Our philosophy comes from our faith and our family values. We believe that what we do in secret will always come to light — so we stand behind our word and do exactly what we say we are going to do. Honest pricing, honest prep, and honest workmanship on every project, whether anyone is watching or not.
